Mia's BG staying high today

Mia's BG was 429 at AMPS, and it is remaining high during the entire cycle. This has not happened with her before. She dropped a little lower than expected last night, so I was not surprised to see her 'in the red' this morning (she is bouncy baby), but to see her staying in the red concerns me. Could some more experienced folks take a look at let me know your thoughts?

I am so tired of being worried about her. We are between vets right now. We have an appointment next Thursday with an internal medicine specialist, unless he gets a cancellation before then. Her vial of insulin is getting pretty low. Since it is our first vial, I do not know how long it will last, but I am scared we will run out. Also, I am noticing some things.. the hair above one of her eyes has thinned out and the skin seems pink/irritated - is she developing an allergy to something she eats or is this insulin or diabetes related? Today, her pupils seem dilated - that is how they look if her BS is too low, but why are they that way now when it is high? :(

Yes, she's definitely bouncing. I'm not very experienced at giving advice on doses that change AM and PM. Teasel was very bouncy on ProZinc and I tried hard to eliminate any factor that seemed to aggravate that. In his case keeping the same dose AM and PM was better. So - coming from that experience I'll suggest you try a couple of days with the same dose AM and PM to see if it settles her a bit. Maybe try 1.5 u? It's on the low side but it might help to calm her down so you can get a better fix on her responses.

My first thought was that the insulin is too old. It happened to us and viola, once I started a new vial, all was well.

I have not seen her stay this high after a bounce though. Usually, the numbers drop a bit then hover sorta flat for a cycle or so.
Her 'normal' dose right now is supposed to be 2.25, but she has had a lot of lower PS numbers, so I have adjusted for that. The numbers were starting to make sense, but the last few days have been a bit odd. I am wondering if the 2.25 is now too high (OR it is possible the insulin is more concentrated at the end of the vial because in the very beginning, I was not rolling it as much before the shots - that is one of those things the vet did not tell me, and I had to find it out myself).
1.5 seems low to me, but maybe I should try staying at 1.75 or 2 for several cycles (provided PS is not too low, of course)??

This is a terrible time not to have a vet. I cannot get any new insulin. I want to see the specialist, but I hope he has a cancellation because our appointment seems so far away right now.

It's possible that the insulin is more concentrated if you weren't rolling it the same way at the start. You could try 1.75 u or 2 u to see what happens. How old is this insulin vial?
