Since I brought Lilly home from the vet for vomiting incident and not eating, they still have not told me the results of her pancreatitis test her BG are going up. they have been giving her this medicine and sent it home for me to give to her.
Could this be causing her BG to go up?
I do not have any experience with medicine previously. Has anybody else has used this before and has rise in BG. Input would be appreciated.
She usually is not this high.

Thank you for the reply it must be something else causing her to go up. Not sure what.

Every cat is different and will react differently so you never know. It is always good to watch the numbers when something new is introduced.

We are now seeing a bad run of numbers on Smokey. My suspicion is that it is the pancreatitis and the pancreas just can't cope with so much going on. I think many cats with pancreatitis see BG issues.

Lilly was in the hospital Monday after an incident Sunday night of vomiting, not eating and general strange behavior. I suspect pancreatitis with her also. I asked the vet to run the test for it but have not gotten the results back yet.
She is as of today still acting strange, picking at whatever food is put out but not vomiting. She has had pancreatitis before and almost died from it. So I am not sure what is going on with her.
I thought maybe my insulin is going bad. I have Lantus that is a couple months old. I guess I will know when I get the results of the test.

If it is the fPLI test, that is shipped out of the office. First find out if the results have been sent back, then what the results are.

Thats the one I ASKED them to run on her. The test cost 79.00 so I do assume that was. Yes just pulled the bill out and it was Spec FPL feline. So just waiting on the results.
BJ if you know anyone that uses Lantus there is someone offering pens for sale here in Columbus in the Supply Closet for 25.00 each. She does not want to ship them. I just bought two pens from someone in Canada already and they are being shipped.

Spitzer has been switched to Prozinc. It is more flexible dosing (no waiting for the nadir anymore) and I can dose adjust based on how he tests. Since he's been ill and his glucose has been all over the place, it is working out better for him. He actually tested a little below 200 this morning.
