Izzy's hind leg weakness is getting worse. I spoke with the vet this morning and she thinks his legs will improve once his diabetes is more in check. I hate seeing him struggle to jump to get onto my lap or watch him take about 20 steps and then need to to stop and rest. I have been doing alot of research online and I have also read many threads on this forum regarding some cats having success with Zobaline or a version of that. I realize ECID but I would like to try to get Izzy started on something today or tomorrow. I went to the Vitamin Shoppe online (there is a store not far from my house) and I found a product by Superior Source. It is a 1000mcg easy dissolve tablet. The 3 ingredients listed are:
VITAMIN B12 - (AS METHYLCOBALAMIN)
And Lactose (milk) and acacia gum.

That's it. No artificial sweeteners or flavors.

Thoughts?

I don't know about the product you're asking about, but Zobaline also contains Folic Acid which is necessary for the absorption of the methylB12. Once ordered, the Zobaline usually takes less than a week to arrive.

The Vet's have told me the same thing for my Maury's neuropathy and was told to hold off on the B12 Methyl for now since he's not getting worse (anymore). My only concern for the ingredients is the Lactose because most kitties do not have the enzyme Lactase to break it down so there's a possibility for diarrhea. Hopefully others will chime in :)

I didn't realize the Lactose might be an issue. He has eaten kitten food that contains some but I bet there might be more in the daily dose of this stuff. I have ordered the Zobaline but thought it might be nice to have a local source in the future. Izzy's has gotten somewhat worse since I first notices early last month.
