It is difficult to find Methyl B12 pills here in Canada which do not contain a lot of extra ingredients.

Would any of the following ingredients pose a health risk to a cat?

Lactose
Microcrystalline cellulose
Croscarmelose sodium
Vegetable grade magnesium stearate (lubricant).

Note: I am re-posting this question from another thread. Any other specific suggestions for brands available in-store in Canada are welcome.

Lactose is a sugar and will raise BG. However, for the amount involved I would not be concerned. The other ingredients are OK, especially considering that the amount of them is small.

For the methyl b12 pills, they are sublingual, but since that doesnt really work with cats i am wondering how other people do it. do you crush it up and put it in their food or do you just give it to them to swallow whole like a normal pill?

I use to crush up the pill into a fine powder and mix well with food. Trouble NEVER knew the difference and ate like usual. He was a little piggy though. ;)
Hope this helps,
jeanne
