I put Howie on methyl b12 and folic acid (instead of Zobaline) this summer as he had some hind leg weakness. He’s been on it daily even though that weakness went away. I know I’ve read that it doesn’t work as well if the cat is not regulated which Howie is not. Should he continue to stay on it if the weakness has gone away or is it OK as a daily supplement for him?
Also, Howie has problems with diarrhea and soft stool more than I would like. He gets S Boulardii which helps! But when I try to ween him off, diarrhea comes right back (which is what I’m dealing with right now). I’ve read opposing articles on whether methyl b12 does anything for GI tract problems as I know there is also Cyano b12 (which is regular b12?). For anyone who has more knowledge and experience than me on this, what should I do? Assume methyl b12 is not helping him? I want to get his B12 levels tested next. Thanks!
