I know this topic is regularly beat to death, but I am short on time...
The meter we had been using for Max has been discontinued. And I was ordering supplies from Hocks, which we all know isn't really Hocks anymore. So the time has come that I need to get a new meter.
Max is OTJ, and has been happily sitting in the 80s for over a year now without insulin.
I'm looking for something inexpensive, hopefully with strips that I can purchase in an actual store, not online (it's just not worth it to pay shipping for a single vial of strips). We don't go through enough strips to use up a vial anymore, and really, I probably only check him once every few months or unless he seems to be acting 'off'. I do not shop at Walmart, so please don't suggest a Relion meter. Is there another meter that is comparable? I was using a Maxima AST if that helps, so I'm more used to a meter that requires only an itty-bitty bit of blood, but I'm sure I can adjust if needed.
TIA!
