Man this is so complicated!Wait a sec.. I buy my strips in France.
The German Amazon has the right ones, but I don't know if they'll ship to Ireland

Hope your kitty’s ok now. And I do trust these guys, waaaay more than the vet who made this all happen. I will use her for what I cant get on my own. That’s it.Lol! I don't know if I'm supposed to feel bad now?!
You'll appreciate the crash course you had. The next time you'll be much more calm and you know what to do. I'm 27 months into this, today of all days mine went bottoming out on me, with a 1.5 +8. I did run, but not like a headless chicken
My tips; buy in France. They're half price on testing gear, including the libre. I'm waiting on the libre 3, it's going to be awesome!!!! And they're the ones who make a lot of skincare and makeups too.... and the prices!!!! just saying! And no, I don't understand a word of French.
And trust these guys, not your vet. Many of us go to the vet for prescriptions, we run doses and regulations ourselves. Your vet won't stay up with you for 21 straight hours, we will, as you experienced yesterday.![]()
This is the reason we say to always set up the hypo kit in the very beginning because you never know when your kitty may drop low.Read along yesterday and early this AM but stayed out of the way as I wouldn’t be any help. But was cheering Merlin, Jill and his team on!m
That thread should be linked in the welcome pages as a cautionary tale! I learned so much and was encourage to put together a kit just in case!
I’ve learned my lesson. Very glad I had most things, they just weren’t in one place. Once I can source an empty syringe and some lick e lix I’ll be all set. Although, I may just keep my little cut-off syringe in there, as it was a really good size to get into the side of Merlin’s mouth. He was so good at swallowing steadily. So good at everything we did to him. Uh oh, I’m crying again now… Anyway, more prepared now for what I hope will never happen again. Thanks @SashaV for finding another supplier of the U100 syringes. I think the pandemic has stopped a lot of suppliers being able to ship overseas. The ones I posted about in the UK always used to ship to Australia but don’t now.
I hope you are having a better day today Jill.I know I slept like a log last night!

And believe me, when it does happen, you don’t want to be having to rush around trying to find something to bring the BG up to safe levels.
You need to be able to put your hand immediately onto the high carb or the honey/ Karo.
I helped a caregiver once who didn’t have a hypo kit set up and had no high carb food or any honey etc in the house and of course it was night time and no shops open…. she eventually found some old candied honey in the back of the cupboard which we put in the microwave to get it to turn to runny honey and were able to use that. But that delay puts your kitty in unnecessary danger. Flour or cooked rice, sweet yogurt or ice cream can also be used in an emergency but having a hypo kit ready to go is so much easier and safer.
Oh thank you. I can’t figure out all those numbers and half numbers and where that all goes if it’s not on the hour. And I panic whenever I look at those pages. Still too close. But Merlin’s fine now. In a high BG way.@Bandit's Mom would you be able to find time to add the data from yesterday’s am cycle and into the pm cycle please?. It’s in yesterday thread. There is a lot of data and you probably won’t be able to add it all. Jill is brand new to all of this and might struggle to add it correctly. Thanks.
Hi Jill,Well, that just did the trick! Ordered! Thanks a million!!
I wasn’t saying you hadn’t set up your hypo kit. You were fairly well prepared. I just wanted anyone reading this thread who had not set up a spreadsheet, to read yesterdays thread and see why we say in the first posts to new members to please get the hypo kit set up.I’ve learned my lesson. Me too! Still recovering.I hope you are having a better day today Jill.I know I slept like a log last night!
Hi Jill. When you have several BG readings in an hour, you can just type and jam them into a single cell. Normally, you won't have as many as we had the other day/night (since sometimes we were testing every 10 minutes! since the Libre was there.) An example would be:I can’t figure out all those numbers and half numbers and where that all goes if it’s not on the hour.
Bhooma is going to contact Jill and do the SS for her for the marathon day.Hi Jill. When you have several BG readings in an hour, you can just type and jam them into a single cell. ## @4.5
## @4.7
When you put extra info into a single cell, though, you do have to color code it yourself by using the icons for "fill color" and "text color" at the top of the screen. Sometimes you only have to put in the "fill color" (the background color) but sometimes the text color needs to be changed so that the entries are legible. You'll figure that one out.
Absolutely boring! When will your syringes arrive? We want to be with you when you start. But it's going to be WAY different than last time. Maybe boring even![]()

Yes. I just thought she should know for the future. There's no way they could jam all of it in the spreadsheet. I didn't even try to track ALL of them and I had to kind of round them to the quarter hours. Things were getting so crazy.Bhooma is going to contact Jill and do the SS for her for the marathon day.
Jill i don't know if Webbox lick e lix is available in Ireland but i have found these Catit creamy cat treats at a pet shop near you in Cork and they look very similar to lick e lix and they sell them in of 4 individual sachets of 10 grams to a box.Once I can source an empty syringe and some lick e lix I’ll be all set.
Yes I knew you were showing her how to do it for the future…which is great…just wanted to let you know that Bhooma will hopefully be able to somehow get some of them in there to show what happened.Yes. Me too! Got a migraine now. Glad it wasn’t happening then! We all still feel shellshocked, except for Merlin. He’s his usual chatty self. Though maybe a little more sleepy.Me too! Still recovering.

The Tuna is 34.88% carbs
The Salmon and Prawns is 12.7% carbs
The Chicken is 22.4 % carbs
It might be worth getting some and letting merlin just taste a teeny weeny little bit to see if he likes them (you don't want to raise his bloods by giving him too much), obviously he will need to like them just in case.

Yes, I love boring!Hooray for boring!!
Okay guys, what are lick e lix? Are they high carb? Or low carb like our "Tiki Stix"Webbox lick e lix is available in Ireland but i have found these Catit creamy cat treats at a pet shop near you in Cork and they look very similar to lick e lix
Sorry about your migraine. That can definitely be a reaction to stress. I had never seen it before but my son who never gets headaches (is healthy as an ox and almost never gets ill... and even when he does he still wants to eat when he has a fever over 102 fahrenheit!) ... anyway he got a massive migraine the next day after our cat Maverick died here at home. That really showed my how upset he was and how stressed he was by the whole event. So I wouldn't be surprised if your whole constitution is upset by what happened... GI symptoms would not surprise me at all.Me too! Got a migraine now. Glad it wasn’t happening then! We all still feel shellshocked, except for Merlin. He’s his usual chatty self. They are high carb sort of like a moose, yoghurty texture, only 15 grams in a sachet. The ones we give to Duke are about 20% carbs and absolutely loves them.Okay guys, what are lick e lix? Are they high carb? Or low carb like our "Tiki Stix"
