Hi there my name is Danyale me and my mom have had a beautiful little kitty in our lives for 12 years now. She was diagnosed almost 3 years ago with diabetes. It has been a tough struggle but she is my angel. For everyone who has told us to put her down, and stop wasting money on her, we fight harder. she is a healthy cat besides this and we wouldn't put humans down like that and she is just as much part of our family as a human would be. She is a lazy kitty always really has been and even a bit of a diva that was my fault though. Her first 2 years of her life I was a blogger and used to get her dressed and pictures of her to do videos and so on so she somehow has always thought she was famous, even for a bit she had a stamp with her picture on it.

She isn't a big snuggler but any time anyone in our house is sad or sick she does come check on us. She loves to be snuggled when she feels bad and loves to be petted and have all your attention on her alot. She gets spurts of energy she run through the house with her catnip toys but its few and in between when she does that and usually when im trying to sleep. Libby her full name is Liberty Ariel Syanne but we call her libby for short. She was born in a group of 3 kittens. 1 died first night and libby was the only one actually born after midnight giving her very own birthday which that year was memorial day. It felt like destiny to call her Liberty after that. Its how she got her name. Anyways just thought I would share some about me and my kitty, oh we also live in north carolina.

Hi and welcome Danyale and Libby. It would be interesting to know more about Libby's diabetic treatment, and if you have any concerns, questions or issues please post on the Main Health forum HERE so that more members can read and respond. Feel free to visit the different forums and read through posts. :cat:

Welcome to the group. It is a fantastic place to find help in managing Libby's diabetes. There are a number of things/set up that is needed in order for everyone to help you (you can of course ask questions anytime) but by setting these things up it allows us to have certain information that is important for members in order to offer any advice.

Firstly, could you set up your signature. This is basic information about Libby so that we don't have to ask you every time you have a question. to do this just go to your name at the top right hand side of the page and click. You will get a drop down box and on the left you will see signature. If you could please let us have your name, cats name, cat's age and weight, date of diagnosis, type of insulin and type of meter you are using for testing. Time zone or where you are is useful too as we have members all over the world and any other medical issues Libby may have.

Secondly, we all use a spreadsheet here to record our tests. This is important if you need any advice on dose etc. it links to your signature and if you have any questions members can access it to see how Libby is responding to the current dose. You will find information on this in Tech Support.

Not to overload you but there is also a very valuable info post http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/new-how-you-can-help-us-help-you.216680/#post-2412442 that has a lot of amazing information.
Please don't let me overwhelm you right away, do these things when you have time and if you have any questions in the meantime, just go ahead and ask them on either Feline health or the board relating to the insulin you are using.

Big welcome I know you will find this forum as amazing as I do. Libby is a beautiful cute little girl.:)

Welcome to the group, Danyale, Mom and Libby! Not sure where you are, but we are in Raleigh. Lou and Deirdre covered all the important stuff in their posts, so I just wanted to say "Hey". :)
