Copper's readings so far look good, despite starting out very high for him. Hoping to see Nadir soon. His ear are sore! Poor man. He is so sweet, i hate to torture him so much with the ear pricks. I was hoping to get used to doing this so much. I've only been doing this a week so far. Seems like years.

Will post again tonight with results....

Do you definitely hold his ear for a few seconds after poking? That helps with bruising. So does neosporin (the kind with pain relief is okay.)

Food spike is interesting. You are sure doing the pate fancy feast, right?

The 400 this am could have been a bounce from the blues last night, but he has had blues before....Who knows? He IS a cat.....

I'm using all the FF classics pate that are <10%Carbs. Following list i got on diabeticcatcare site. Looks the same as binky's.

I do hold the ear for a few seconds afterwards and use the neosporin w/lidocaine(pain reliver).

Hi Lori,
Just checked your SS. Not "green" but you can't get any closer to green than a 100! I also see you shot the .5 at PMPS, which you wouldn't do a few days ago...... so it looks like you're getting the hang of this! Great job, and it looks like Copper had a good day!

Thanks Carl. Yes, i'm getting a little more confident. I didn't even panic when i saw his 100 today. I actually was calmer. I'm sorry to alarm everyone last night. I'm still all so new at this and don't really know what to expect. Now i do. I know it's going to be a long haul. He is only 7yrs old and hope he will be OTJ someday. What matters is that Copper will be getting better soon! Hated to torture him today for the ear pricks. So hard to do every hour. BUt, i think he realized that i'm trying to help him. Well at least i would like him to think that.

Well tomorrow is another day. No, i will not test anymore tonight. I need a break and so does copper. Dr. P ordered me to go to bed. Need to tonight, i'm sick and i have to cook Thanksgiving day turkey and all the fixin's for 16 people.

Thank you for all that you do! I really didn't feel alone in this last night. So thankful i have this forum.

She has been ordered to go to bed and NOT get up again and to leave Copper's ears alone tonight!

But....I did tell her that IF she did test, that I really won't bite....too hard....if I see one on the chart and to not refrain from posting it.

That said, there is no reason to bug the little guy tonight....even as much as I love data.

Lori - you sounded horrible tonight. I can't believe you have to cook for 16 people as sick as you sound.
