Hi everyone
I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that 6 months have gone by since
Max had his last insulin shot.
In one more month it would be the 1 year anniversary of his dx and actually
a year ago now is when Max really became sick, starting with fatty liver.

Max is doing well and still has not managed to lose any weight.
I find it very hard to control the feedings with the 4 kitty's in the house.
No matter when someone else wants to eat, Max wanders into the kitchen
to make sure he does not miss any food.

We have had some inappropriate peeing outside the LB every once in a while.
He does it right next to the box. I think he just gets mad that someone else
has used it, (I have 5 in the house all spread out).

Max has adjusted pretty well to Isabelle, my little CH kitten I rescued in July as a result of
a posting on the board. She adores Max and they even play together. There have been
some nice changes to Max since her arrival.
Overall he is sociable and loving and still loves a good lap to sit in,
20 pounds and all. :-D

I know there are many new people now that do not know Max and I. I thought I
would post Max's pre-party condo here for those "newbies" who would like
to know Max's journey and to truly understand what an amazing place LL is.
I firmly believe that Max would not be in this condition today without
the full suppport and devotion of this board. I hope his story will help others.
Big hugs and thank yous to all of our friends here. I miss you all so very much.

happy annifursary!! This is a wonderful number to celebrate such a special day with too ... the WCR today was awesome, love hearing that max has a new friend to play with ... Keep up the great work guys!

I had forgotten Max's pre-party condo. He is a very special boy (all 20 lbs of him). Hooray for Max!! I can't believe it's been 6 mos., either.

And yes, Randi, sleep is still over-rated in this household!!

Thanks everyone for stopping by on this special day for us.
Max is sitting beside me now giving himself one super bath.

I love him so dearly. It still amazes me that not one of my vets
supported me and his treatment.

I have started seeing my old vet again who was not around when Max was diagnosed
(maternity leave) and she is very anxious to learn more about Lantus.
I hope to spread the news.

We are hoping to see many more of you at the Falls and if you cannot make it,
we still hope and wish for health and happiness to you all.

It is hard to believe that it has been 6 months. It seems like it was just yesterday. I wish you guys well. Very nice on your vet - and that she wants to learn. awesome.

congrats!

Wow, time does fly. I can't believe Max is still 20 pounds! He is so adorable and I love that he and Izzy get along so well. Please give him a big hug and kiss from Webber (but tell him it's from me). ;-)

Happy 6 Month Annifursary

Hi Randi & Max and CONGRATS to you both!! drinking24
Is it really 6 months?? And we haven't even met in Plattsburgh yet!!! We'll have to remedy that this fall!!
It's so great that Max is doing well and enjoying playing with the new kitty. Keep up the good work!

Ella

P.s. Thanks, Randi, for your wonderful remembrance of Stu.

wow, 6 months already?! I still haven't caught on my sleep from Max's trip down the dosing scale.

Congratulations on 6 months OTJ. It is well deserved.

Libby, I don't think myself or Sienne have either. :-D
Those were crazy times.
We should have charged admission and sold it to Disney.

Five LB's! That will keep you busy!!

Congrats on your anniversary. Can't believe it has been that long. So happy :-D Max is doing well, and except for LB duty, you too.

I love how Max and the new kitty get along, it will help keep him young at heart and active.

Feeding multiple cats with separate diet issues can have its challenges.

Congratulations on your anniversary!

i can't believe i almost missed max's 6 month OTJ annifursary!
i'm sitting here in tears (once again) after re-reading max's pre-party condo and recounting his journey. what a ride that was!!!
randi and max, congratulations on this milestone... and may there be many, many more yet to come!

Happy 6 months OTJ Max :)..

I think about you and your family from time to time.. Nova just had her 1 year anniversary since dx which had me doing a fair amount of reflecting on her and my journey.. including time around fdmb.. and of course Hitch (my CH kitty) is a good reminder too :)..

Just the other day Hitch's grampa (my father) was visiting and commented on how far Hitch has come since I got him as a little guy a few years ago.. that he could barely walk when I first got him and now he can even jump onto the couch (most of the time ;) ) without help. Keep giving her lots of love and encouragement, and don't believe any of the CH cats can't improve stuff.. cats are extremely adaptive creatures.

Hope things continue to go great for you guys.

Loved Max Pre Party condo… Inspiring story..

Thanks for helping me and my Frip when I first joined LL in June cat_pet_icon (23 lbs of him - he can’t loose weight either)…

Oh, the pre-OTJ party condo still brings tears to my eyes too. This is one miracle Max for sure. I almost had vertigo from the fast ride down the dosing ladder that Max did. It was like nothing I had seen before. From so much insulin to zoom-a zoom-a down to a big old zero. Then all that gum chewing you did, hee, hee so funny.

Seriously, congratulations on a terrific job and many hugs for saving him. Aww, I'm starting to get that salt water running down my face again.

So glad to see such a beautiful number at 6 months. I hope he decides to aim his pee IN the box from now on. Just like a little boy, he needs to aim better. I hope that's all it is.

P.S. Apologies for the late arrival, but had to go find this condo no matter how late. ohmygod_smile
