I agree with Marje and Wendy regarding taking the dose back to 2.5-2.75u, and gathering some more data before reassessing his insulin needs.
It's great that he doesn't mind the poke, that makes life so much easier, George is an ear flicker, he happily comes sits on my knee for the poke, purring all the while, but I think the blood droplet must tickle his ear and he often flicks his ears and head with the resultant mess
, I find that holding his head gently usually allows me enough time to get the strip on to the blood drop.
