Max & I Are Struggling

Hello and Welcome to you and your gorgeous boy.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

I agree with Marje and Wendy regarding taking the dose back to 2.5-2.75u, and gathering some more data before reassessing his insulin needs.

It's great that he doesn't mind the poke, that makes life so much easier, George is an ear flicker, he happily comes sits on my knee for the poke, purring all the while, but I think the blood droplet must tickle his ear and he often flicks his ears and head with the resultant mess:rolleyes:, I find that holding his head gently usually allows me enough time to get the strip on to the blood drop.

We refer to this as T/F/S (Test, Feed, Shoot). The closer you can get to a 12-hour schedule, the better. Is there a specific reason for feeding him at 6 pm instead of, say, 6:45, or 7 pm?
There is, yes. Let's just say that of the 3 cats and 2 humans living in this house, one of us hates change and is rigid about routine...and it's not one of the cats. No matter. I'll get us there.

I intended to give 2.75 last night but my syringe stuck although I primed it, so I estimate he got about 2. This morning went smoothly, and he got 2.75. Here are numbers beginning PMPS last night through current: 483 PMPS, 455 AMPS, 521 +3, 564 +6. Still not good, but after all of your advice, I realize I need to hang in there with it for 6 cycles before I make any changes.

:)
Max is jealous of Squallie's numbers. I'll be doing a +9 test in a few minutes but we haven't been doing so well today.
Tell Max that it's taken Squallie 2 years to get into these numbers; Squallie has spent plenty of time being jealous of other kitties' numbers, lol! Prayers that things start looking up for Max! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
