Good morning. Last night was scary for me. I was afraid Max was going to go hypo but his BG this morning is back in the 200's so let's see what the day brings. I bought the generic test strips for my Relion and pray they work as I just have one or two of the originals left.

I was told I could buy the test strips from ADW for my Relion Micro. My code should be F4 but the new strip came up F3. The bottle does say F3 however. He tested 344 with the generic strip and right after 285 with one of the three I have left. I don't have a Walmart anywhere near me. What should I do?

Re: Max/Elise After Crazy Night ANPS 236

You did a good job last night, and I know it was probably scary, but you did great. Hoping that the generic strips for the Relion give you the results you're looking for. He's starting out nicely this morning, too. Have a great day!

Elise

I'm sorry it was a scary night. Those first dips into green can be but he was safe and great that LC did the trick.

Here's the link to Max's 1/31 Condo.

Great job last night. Hope you nap today. :-D

Thanks, Marje. No nap today but it looks like I will sleep tonight with a PMPS of 344 I assume Max is bouncing again. I just got home to test him and he didn't eat while I was gone this afternoon either. He ate his chicken treat and then I added water to his food with a little Stella & Chewy's on top. He's currently either eating or getting the water from the food. Do they feel crumby with all this bouncing up and down? Do they feel worse when high?

Some kitties do feel a bit punk when their numbers are bouncing around. I suspect that we would feel crummy if your BG was all over the place, too.

I also want to share an observation. There is a difference between low numbers and symptomatic hypoglycemia. We see very few cats, thankfully, who experience symptoms when their numbers are in the greens. It's why we push you to home test and to monitor closely when numbers are dropping. You may want to take a look at this post on handling low numbers. It will walk you through the process of steering the numbers with food. It's helpful to have if there's no one around to lend you a hand.

Thanks for that. I actually printed it at the beginning of this journey but last night I was too tired and upset and just wanted to talk to someone. It all worked out.

We +2 1/2 is 202 so I wonder how much lower he will go tonight.
