Max wanted food before 6 this morning but I ignored him. He then drank water. I was expecting his BG to be high again but it was lower. So his drinking doesn't necessarily mean he is high. Now I can feed him and give him his insulin.

Hi guys .. sure is a nice blue to start the day! Maybe max felt himself sliding down and wanted food to hold steady? At any rate, he looks good! have a great day guys!

Looking better. You'll find that as his #s lower, he'll drink a less water, how much less is dependent upon him. It means that he'll start to feel better. Keep up the excellent work! :-D

I just tested Max again and at 7 1/2 hours he is 160. I/m beginning to think his Nadir is later rather than earlier.

You're seeing some nice blues today, that's good :-D . Cats do have different nadirs, so that is possible. Have a nice evening! (PS, would you be able to put the date at the beginning of the subject line? makes it easier to read and find each days condo ;-) )

Cool, thanks Elise :-D . If you want, just 2/3 Max etc is good, you don't need the year, it saves you some room when you're testing lots, lol. These subject lines cut off the important stuff sometimes :o You're doing a great job!

Max is giving you some good numbers.

FWIW, the nadir can change. It is not necessarily at +6. Some cats have early nadirs and some late nadirs. Gabby's typical nadir is at aroung +3 or +4 except on days when it's not.

So they are not predictable except when they are. He just had his highest reading of the day. When would you test again?

I'm a big fan of a +2 or +3 test. In a typical curve, the +2 is about the same as your pre-shot value. If it is considerably less, it could be a busy cycle. My guess is that Max may be bouncing so those numbers could be higher.
 
Well the plus 3 was about the same as the PS, 288. So I guess that means it won't be an active night, right?
