Any suggestions for what low carb treat might be ok for a diabetic cat. We had some dry Royal Canin Diabetic dry but Dr. Lisa had said too many carbs in any dry so now we need something better and safer that she will like. All ideas are welcome.

Hi! I've been using Pure Bites freeze-dried chicken treats; a tad expensive, but if you get the larger dog size bag, and break up the treats by hand to smaller pieces, they'll last a bit longer. Pure Bites on Amazon.
My Oren loves them, and civie sister Patty too; she comes running when he's getting tested just so she can get in on it! Also, just plain cooked, skinless chicken works too. Oren prefers breast meat to thighs.

favorite here is raw shrimp ( cut up in tiny pieces as no teeth)
you can also open a can of human grade tuna, and place in ice tray with a little water.... so you can pop one out at a time.
i also use a bite of monterrey jack cheese or cheddar, parmesan.
purebites shrimp (can be rehydrated or crumbled)
fresh is best has a great variety. I can send you a sampling if you want to try first.... pm me your address.

mine isn't interested in boiled chicken.... or freeze dried chicken... I guess it doesn't have a strong flavor.
I thought she didn't like freeze dried anything until I tried turkey ... and duck, so one flavor doesn't necessarily mean they don't like freeze dried.

You are so thoughtful to offer a sample. I already bought the freeze dried chicken and all four kitties seemed to enjoy it. I will try your other suggestions as well. What does "pm me" mean?
The abbreviations on this FDMB sometimes puzzle me.

pm is private message.
you can click on someones name.... and it will say "start a conversation"..... it's only visible by those you invite ....

we do have lots of slang....
I find myself using it all the time outside of fdmb and others don't know what I'm talking about.... especially when I'm texting.....:joyful:

Any freeze dried pure meat product is good. If you check out pet food stores, they usually have something, especially if the store also sells raw food. The same variety in the dog size is usually cheaper. Orijen makes a line and so far I haven't found a variety my two don't like. But they also get bits of freeze dried chicken heart and lamb lung.

PM means private message, which is the term the old version of the board used. This form of the board uses the term Conversation. If you click on someones user name, an option comes up to Start a Conversation.
