I got the U40 syringes with half dosage on Chewy.comIs there a photo with the half dosage markings on U40 syringes?
I've seen several with U100 syringes but not U40.
I have the pet test U 40 .3cc 31g 8mm syringes.
This is what my syringe looks like.
I know I am totally overthinking this, but where would the 0.5 unit and 0.25 unit doses be?
After the longer mark which indicates zero units, the very first shorter mark on the left hand side is .5, as is every marking on that side (1.5/2.5/3.5 etc etc)
The very first marking you see on the right hand side (which is the 2nd shorter mark) is 1u
so it starts with .5, and then every line is another .5 with the whole units on the right and the halves on the left.

and to answer your question of where the .25u markings are....there are none. You have to eyeball it between two of the lines for a quarter unit
Ok Thanks for trying to help.I am not familiar with the u40 syringes so I am going to stop replying
Ok Thanks for trying to help.
I have been struggling with them. That's why I just wanted to verify. I do appreciate your effort to help.I was so pleased to be able to speak with authority about something and help someone clear something up too. Then I realized I was giving information that does not apply, so embarrassing sorry!

Unfortunately there are not a lot of options with the U40 syringes with a smaller needle length. I have been looking all over for some. I would not want to go shorter than 8mm, I agree I think those are to short. The 1/2 inch ones are just to long and they hurt her. After staring at your picture more -- it looks to me like those syringes are marked in increments of .2u
that would be really annoying to me if I was trying to shoot in .25u increments! Can you get different ones?? I would.
I've been trying different brands and types and needle lengths. I got some 6mm ones that imo are too short, his skin is thick some places! I got some BD Ultra-fine that slip in so easily, he barely notices. But the damn things are sticky af on the dose fine-tuning! I have other syringes which are not sticky on the fine-tune but feel awful when sticking him, like instead of going in smooth it feels....rough. Like it is tearing through the skin or something. The Utili-care ones.
The 1/2 inch ones are just to long
We're you able to find a U40 syringe with a shorter needle? I've done more fur shots with these long needles. I hate them!unf

Yes 29 gauge is fine U-40 is for prozincThe ones I use are 29 Guage. AM I using the correct ones for ProZinc? This is what the vet gave me

Can I change the Guage for shorter needles? I realize it's just the hole in the needle, but i HATE the 1/2 inchYes 29 gauge is fine U-40 is for prozinc![]()

These are the ones I've always bought, but the picture she attached isn't these...I don't think

What insulin are you going to be changing to?Oh... wait. Should I hold off as I might be changing insulin?
Hey Melissa maybe JBat75 should ask about the syringes on her thread so we don't confuse Trudy 66 who asked about U-40Yes. Lantus is U100, but that same brand makes U100 syringes as well. I also use their U100 ha
Countryside pet supply sells them the cheapest I've found, and free shipping. These are the U100 ones: https://www.countrysidepet.com/coll...te-31-gauge-3-10cc-u-100-syringes-pack-of-100
They sell a pack of 300 as well that is cheaper per syringe
I can do that! Sorry, I get them confused. I had commented on my U-40s availability with 1/2 unit markings....Hey Melissa maybe JBat75 should ask about the syringes on her thread so we don't confuse Trudy 66 who asked about U-40
What do you think
It's ok , just didn't want to confuse Trudy, I'll go to your post and ask you what insulin you might be switching toI can do that! Sorry, I get them confused. I had commented on my U-40s availability with 1/2 unit markings....
These are the ones I bought. Can you post a link to the exact ones you bought? I've used the pet test ones forever but I really don't remember them being marked that way. Can you also post picture of the text on the barrel (clear plastic on syringe, usually says U40 bla blah blah). Your lines are not correct though, it would be 0.33U, 0.66U, then 1U is correct. Then 1.33, 1.66, 2.
@FrostDThese are the ones I bought.

Do the syringes you posted have 1,2,3,4 ect listed for units.@FrostD
Melissa to me these still don't look right,
Look at the pic of the syringe I posted yes they say 1 , 2, 3 etcDo the syringes you posted have 1,2,3,4 ect listed for units.
I hope I didn't accidently get a china knockoff.
The 1,2 unit marks lines up with the syringes the vet gave me.
But I am struggling with the half and quarter marks.
Look at the pic of the syringe I posted yes they say 1 , 2, 3 etc
I just looked at the pic of the box you posted and I see they look like the pic of the box I posted
but the pic of the syringe doesn't look like that
Let's wait until Melissa gets the tags Very strange
Where did you order the ones you have , do you have the website

OK so she can use the ones she has ?Wow ok. Yep, and I just looked back at my spreadsheet and mine must have been the same way because at some point when I switched syringe brands my doses were in increments of 0.33 (I just rounded...I put notes in there saying forget it, 0.3 increments were easier).
So with the needle facing up, the left hand notches are in 0.33U increments. The right hand notches are 0.4U increments.
So for your next increase I would go to the 1.2U line using the right hand notches. We can figure out any further increases after that,.I'll probably forget about the increments though lol I would add a note to SS saying those are the increments, and your signature as well "Syringes are 0.33U and 0.4U increments" if it will fit

You're making me doubt myself! No lol 1.2U. it should be the 3rd line on the right side notches (0.4, 0.8, then 1.2)So for your next increase I would go to the 1.2U line using the right hand notches.
Should that have been 1.4? LOL
Ok. LOL I'm math challenged. I see what you mean. I was trying to start over after the 1 unit mark. You're making me doubt myself! No lol 1.2U. it should be the 3rd line on the right side notches (0.4, 0.8, then 1.2)
