Hello All,

I've updated Marilyn's SS. It's possible I've experienced my first "fur shot"...or my "ex" picked her up with damp hands...he's not sure if he did. The damp hands thing is complicating the situation. The Lantus is so new to her system, I don't know if I can use the SS to determine a fur shot, or not. Any thoughts? How do you usually handle a fur shot?

Thanks,

Deb

If you did give a fur shot, you can usually smell the insulin.

If you do give a fur shot, oh well. Do NOT shoot more to try and make up for what was lost.... you have no idea if you actually did give a fur shot and have no way to know how much got into the cat. If you shoot more for the fur shot, you could cause problems and over dose your cat.

With Lantus you will just use some of the shed and make up for it on the next shot.
Don't worry about it; everyone has had their share of fur shots.

There isn't a person here who hasn't done a fur shot. It happens.

Tomorrow is another day (didn't somebody sing that  )

Lantus is sure to be better than Humulin. Just deep breaths, Mom.

Thanks Sue,

That helps...I took a shower...now, deep breaths, deep breaths...

I know Paul McCartney sang, "it's just another day...do, do, do, do, do, do, it's just another day"; but I don't think that's the one you meant!

I've been wanting to tell you, I read your poem, somewhere on the boards (pretty sure it was your poem). Anyway, I almost died laughing when you wrote something in the range of, "stop waking me every 15 minutes to see if I'm okay...I'm a cat, I sleep". After I stopped laughing, I searched my house for cameras, since I was sure you were watching me. I couldn't find any. So tell me, where did you hide them?

Can't take any credit for it. It was written by a long ago member, Laura and Rainbow. I just got it reposted in the stickies. But yes, it is wonderful and puts it all into perspective.

..... and I usually link "newbies" to it the first week or so after they join. Sorry, I should have linked you to it, Deb. I usually tell people to print it out and stick it somewhere where you can't miss seeing it every day... Very happy Sue got it stickied. It's one of my "standards" to dish out! I cried the first time (more than once actually) I read it.
