Pet specific meters are always going to read higher at the higher numbers.
It's the low numbers, under 100 when the meter readings really matter.
Alphatrak takes a smaller blood drop than the Relion.
Remember that the Alphatrak has the little black spots on the sides of the test strip for sipping up the blood.
The human meters have the little black spots on the end of the test strip for sipping up the blood.
Pick the one you feel most comfortable using.
Pick the one that has more affordable test strips.
Keep the other one as a backup, in case you accidentally drop your primary meter, like into the cats water dish and fry the electronics. Or the battery dies on you.
All the dosing protocols on here are written with human meters in mind. But we can understand both.
