When you've given the lowest dose possible and the cat has stayed in normal numbers for 7 days, it's time for a trial
The lowest dose possible is 1 drop...it's when you've gone down from .25 to .1 …..the next dose is 1 drop. The easiest way to get that is to push the plunger in HARD and then insert the syringe into the insulin....just "let go" of the plunger. That will pull up a tiny amount.
We usually recommend that before you reduce the dose, they stay on a "good dose" for at least 7 days...then they "earn" the reduction (or if they drop below 68 on the AT)
Don't rush it....We want to give the pancreas as much time to heal as safely possible. We want a strong remission, not necessarily a fast one!
