Mailing Lantus - info needed

Could someone please post instructions on packaging and mailing Lantus? I wonder about including a freezer pack - is there any danger of actually freezing the Lantus with it?

this time of year you're unlikely to need a freezer pack unless it's going somewhere incredibly warm. normally i wrap the insulin in a bubble wrapped envelope and wrap the freezer pack separately, and put both in a box (even a glucometer box is a decent size for this). if you really wanted to insulate it well you could put it in a styrofoam box.
crumpled up newspaper would help keep contents from shifting and separate insulin from the icepack. the whole thing will probably be room temp when the recipient gets it, but lantus ships pretty well and is not as fragile as many think.
doesn't even need to go overnight unless again you're talking extreme temperatures (below 36 degrees or over 85, i think). took 6 days for me to get lantus from canada and it worked to the last drop about 10 weeks later.
 
I live in the Kansas City area & just received 2 Lantus Pens from the Boston area. Traci shipped the pens to me on Tuesday & I received them today (Thursday)
She shipped them via FedEx & in Bubblewrap in this: Envelope
Lantus appears fine, of course I won't know until I use it though.
