Hello-
On top of her asthma and newly diagnosed diabetes, my poor Mimi has come down with an URI. She is taking Orbax for this infection and today was her second dose of the antibiotic. Doctor also sent me home with saline drops for her nose, and Lysine and Amino B Complex to administer orally to help build her immune system. My concern is that I noticed that the first two inactive ingredients within both of these products is fructose which of course translates into sugar. As Mimi's BG numbers are always high and have yet to really come down, I am worried that the fructose within both of these products will make her sugar level worse. If anyone has any thoughts or advice please let me know. Using the Alpha Tracker 2, Mimi's BG is consistently in the high 400 to 500's which I know is horrific She is taking taking 2.75 units of Lantus. She also takes flovent for her asthma twice daily though tonight was her first treatment using the AeroKat chamber and I want to say that this procedure was a nightmare...............well............at least she was strong enough to fight me
So, I'm wondering if at this point building the immune system with the Lysine and Amino B complex is more of a priority than her already high BG numbers, or if I should be worried about giving her these products and sending a 488 BG reading sailing into the 600's.
Thank you for your help.
