So Kitten's Lantus has been reduced to .5 units BID as of 6/17 pm. Down from 1.5 U's BID. Her nadir today was 71. I plan on doing a BG curve on her soon to really see what is happening. I am filling in my spreadsheet manually for now. Yes.. Gmail and I do not work well together. Her amps yesterday was 337. Kind of high. I would luv to get her down to one shot a day if possible. I am thinking I should post at the relaxed lantus forum since I do test as often as this forum.

It's entirely up to you where you post. We are more numbers driven here and can't really offer you much help without seeing Kitten's BG test numbers. It doesn't matter if you use the Google SS or an Excel SS. We do need to see what's going on in order to offer you any form of informed assistance.

To be honest, I would not aim for once a day dosing. A cat's metabolism warrants twice a day shots. If you go to once a day, you're going to see even bigger swings in the numbers. I'd suggest taking a look at the spreadsheets of cats that have gone OTJ. Currently, Cain is on an OTJ trial. You can see how the dose was gradually reduced and what numbers should look like before and during a trial.

Hi Sienne. I thought maybe only daily testers could post in tight. One of the IM's mentioned the one shot a day. I was surprised by this as it did not seem ideal. Thankyou for your opinion. I will probably be posting in the technical help forum this week for help with spreadsheet. I am looking forward to doing the blood curve when her IM gets back from vacation. Kitten's ear is bleeding more easily now. The relion really sips up the tiniest molecule. I have been researching a curve and it looks like every two hours for 12 hours . But once every hour when it falls to a certain BG.

If you need help with the SS, you could also contact Marje. She's very good at helping people with getting a SS set up. We do tend to like the Google version since it automatically updates and everyone can access it. Not everyone here has Excel so it limits who can access your SS.

FWIW, there have been a scant few cats that end up on a once a day dose. However, they are the exception rather than the rule and it's usually when they are very close to OTJ.
