i took Baby to vet today because I found a small lump... during exam vet found a larger lump that I had no idea about & it concerns him more. Wait a month & see if they grow - if so, surgery & biopsies.. I feel like I can't breathe but am trying to stay positive.hank you for your prayers (((Baby))) & I need them xoxoxo It still could be nothing & Im going with that, why think of the big c when it has just as high chance of just a lumpy lump. She is acting great, eating, playing & runs circles around others that are twelve. Still scared but have a 50/50 outcome & focusing on her behavior & positive power of prayers!

Someone said they began vitamins & I want to give vitamins - what's best? She's 12, Diabetic, Raw Diet & very active.

Good morning Nicole :-) I know exactly how you feel. I found a lump on Gobbles on 8/7 and took him to the vet on 8/10. The vet did a fine needle aspiration. I got a follow up call from him on 8/14. The test showed no cancerous cells but it is not 100% definitive.
He said to keep an eye on it. It is more flat now but looks irritated; he may have to excise it and biopsy it. BJM will give you excellent advice. Feel free to read my posts.

Good morning, thank you for your replies! One lump is on her right side of her body (I can’t even find it again – but the vet did after doing the exam on her twice (he didn't find it at first either), the other is around her left hind leg and about the size of a grape. They are definitely not visible, they are in the skin so I cannot see them at all.

He wasn’t as concerned about that one though. I take her back in a month to see if they have grown, etc. I am a nervous wreck but trying to remain positive and proactive. I will read through the post now that was posted and appreciate you both.. prayers for Baby & Gobbles both!

BJM – what would you do here, I do trust your advice always. Also, are there any overall good vitamins for felines? Clinically & behaviorally she is exhibiting no signs. Appetite, activity, input/output completely normal. This is the first time this vet saw her, so I wonder if the one lump on side was just missed before.. a lot running through my head, but taking it one day at a time.

Gobbles' lump is on his right side, above leg, on back....it was not visible until I shaved the area--it was harder and firmer last week--I measured it using a piece of plastic wrapped held over it, then traced it with a sharpie, and I've measured it again (and dated it) twice. It is no bigger as of today, but still firm yet flatter. Are the lumps soft and squishy, or hard? Gobbles is under his skin as well. I'm going to give it one more week before I would take him back to the vet and set up surgery. Thank you for your prayers--and I'll pray for Baby & Gobbles as well.

Di the vet over to do a fine-needle aspirate? That is when they stick a needle in the lump and place the contents a a slide and look at it under a microscope.

My Tiggy has had two lumps. Both appeared fast . One was a fatty cyst beside his shoulder. The vet felt it and didnt aspirate - he could tell by feeling it. It was under the skin and moveable. We left it alone with instructions to watch it if it grew etc. It went away after a few months.

The second lump was the size of a grape and appeared on his flank. It was lumpy and above the skin so you could see its texture. It was hard and immovable. The vet immediately aspirated. He could see then and there is was a tumour but couldnt tell if it was benign or not. he scheduled surgery for a few days later. We removed the lump and it was cancer. But they got it all.

Two different responses to different lumps - Given your vets response it sounds like he wasnt too concerned and just wants to keep an eye on it in case it changes. Try not to worry - if it was something serious he would have taken more action.
