Lucy not eating well

Hi we're pretty new, ok Lucy was diagnosed yesterday, but I've been here before, in the late 1990's with Flash(GA) who I got OTJ for five years before he went went over the bridge, and then about 3-4 years ago with a short term foster Nanner ( who is happy and healthy with his forever mom). Yesterday at the vet Lucy's BG was 186, I am waiting on test strips which will be here tomorrow to check it myself. She's never been a big eater, but I would think she would be hungry. For now we are not giving insulin, we are trying diet change first so there is not the danger of a hypo, but I am worried about her not eating much. She has already lost too much weight for such a little cat. Last night I broke down and gave her a jar of baby food just to get something in her, but all I can find around here is Gerber, which has cornstarch. My other cats are enjoying all the stuff I keep trying.

Have you tried adding tuna water or grated parmesan cheese? These work well for Squeaker. Weruva brand foods are another favorite of ours, one thing I like about them is that I can put them in the blender and make a pate out of them. They are a little pricey but they seem to appeal when nothing else will do. Here is the nutritional information so you can check the carb values: http://weruva.com/weruva-cat-cuisine-nutrition.php. I crush and sprinkle a few Pure Bites chicken treats over my guys' food when they won't eat. I have never used it myself but I understand that sprinkling Forti Flora over food also makes it more palatble.
 
I buy lots of Bonito Flakes or Tuna flakes (@ Petco) and, literally, stand over Bailey while he eats and keep on sprinkling crushed flakes on top of his food :)
 
Florti-Flora has always done the trick for my civvie cat. It has the same animal enzymes that they spray dry food with that makes our cats crack heads for the dry stuff. Also, you can try sprinkling a little parmesan cheese to entice her. Also tuna juice, chicken broth, or you can try to warm up the food a bit, makes it more aromatic for the cat. Is she smacking her lips like she is nauseas? If you think that's a possibility you couldn take a pepcid AC 1/4 tablet - may have to crush and syringe feed; wait 20 minutes and try feeding again. Also, try engaging her I a little play to prior to eating to stimulate her appetite
 
I cooked her a piece of boneless skinless chicken and she ate a good amount of that, maybe a quarter of it, and drank some low sodium chicken broth - her favorite treat. We had been giving her prozac for litter box issues after a uti (it was like flipping a switch, she hasn't missed since), but she hasn't wanted to eat much on it either. Her bloodwork yesterday confirmed the infection is all cleared up hopefully she will be ok with the food once it's out of her system. Until then I'm just going to have to do whatever to get food in her. She doesn't seem nauseous, just not interested in some foods. She doesn't like parmesan, but I'll try tuna juice if she refuses the chicken later. We'll check out the bonito and tuna flakes I think she might like those.
