GA LT has joined his favorite diabetic drooler, Tucker

I haven't been here in a long time. After LT came out of remission, he required tiny amounts of insulin. Then came the lymphocytic plasmacytic gingivitis which required the last of his remaining teeth to be removed. He struggled with eating after that, almost always requiring a bit of begging to finish enough food so he could get his insulin. The last month we put him on Dr. Elesy's kibble because he would no longer eat canned. He had diarrhea for a few days that wasn't helped with Forti Flora, but he continued to eat. He wasn't dehydrated, so the vet let us pick up an antibiotic without taking him in for a visit. Yesterday, and the evening before he wouldn't eat anything. He went to the vet and an US showed his spleen, gallbladder and liver were grossly swollen. The vet said she thought he was in pain and it was his time, so at age 17, we let him go join our diabetic dog Tucker. Thank you to all who helped us navigate feline diabetes; those who stayed up with me late at night to make sure LT was safe. He was such a wonderful boy, faster than a speeding bullet, the loudest purr you ever heard, and a snuggler extraordinaire. LT you are gone but never forgotten.

Suzanne, I am so sorry to read about beautiful LT. I know how much it hurts and what a void it leaves behind when our furbabies are gone. It sounds to me like you were really a wonderful cat mama to the very end. Hugs.

So sorry to hear it was LT's time to leave you Suzanne! It sounds like you made the best decision for him despite the pain it caused to your heart. You were such a good cat mama!
Fly free sweet LT and land softly. There are lots of friends at the Bridge to welcome you and keep you company until the time comes when you'll be reunited with your loving mama forever! cat_wings>o

Oh Suzanne, I'm so sorry to hear of LT's crossing...I remember your very first posts...and all of LT's shenanigan's...he just loved to get into the forbidden food...and he was always so close to remission and/or there ...

Fly free sweet boy...enjoy chasing those butterflies in the meadow on the other side of the rainbow bridge.

We'll holler out to you at the next Full Moon party when the veils lift at mid-night.

Sending hugs and my thoughts to you Suzanned...so very sorry for your loss. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:cat_wings>o

I have these funny memories of you and LT too, Suzanne - beautiful Mr. Long Tail and his buddy, sweet Tucker -- I can "see" them hootin' and hollerin", together once again. You gave them both wonderful lives despite the diabetes.
Let the scenery around you in Colorado show you the absolute beauty of changing seasons. Nature helps my spirit a lot, and I hope it helps you now.
LT - we will always love you buddy, I got such a kick out of your name, and shenanigans, like Sue said above . . . sniffing out and scrambling for forbidden food and making your mom tell on you, haha (you tried to outsmart mom and dad at times), and I was impressed at your two legged mom knowing so much about canine, but not feline diabetes. She learned about FD for you LT! :rb_icon:

And the best possible health for you too, Suzanne:bighug:

So sorry Suzanne. As much as it hurts, I know you would rather take on the pain than have LT endure any. Take care of yourself.

I'm so sorry for you. :bighug: Letting go our sweet love is not easy but now LT is free and not in pain anymore. You gave him a beautiful life full of love.
Fly free little boy and take care of momma ! :rb_icon:cat_wings>o

You have all my prayers, dear lady. Although we never had the chance to meet on this forum I understand what you are going through. They never really leave us. You will see your sweet kitty again - God willing.
