Lower Level Dosing

Trying to adjust doses for lower numbers seems like guesswork even with more frequent testing. Our main concern is keeping him out hypoglycemia, but overreacting with a lower dose or more food seems to make the level jump up too high. The vets recommend sticking with a constant dose, but that doesn't seem possible when you know what the levels are. Any thoughts?

It is hard to give the same dose for a 376 and a 262. I think it's wise to adjust do wear for a lower preshot and give a little more for a higher preshot.

I think he is looking good. He got a green and bounced from that, but if I look back over his spreadsheet, he has consistently had good numbers midcycle and lately has gotten some lower preshots.

Thanks. We like to see him in the blue numbers mid cycle, but when he went down to green we gave him extra food, which may have contributed to his high number at the end of the cycle. Today we gave him less food, and he was barely in the range for us to give him a dose, so we waited a 1/2 hour, retested and gave him a smaller dose. Now at 4 hours he is 141 and getting some food. Hopefully, he will not be too low or high in 2 hours when we retest him.
