Skeeter has been on 1 unit of Lantis 2x a day until last Friday. His levels have very controlled between 85 and 150 so his vet put him on 1 unit of Lantis 1x a day. His levels have staying around 104. The goal is control with diet alone. His levels are low and the vet is closed. Should we give him his insulin or skip it tonight? Now lately after getting his insulin he has vomitted.

How low has he gone at nadir?
Vomiting can be a sign of hypoglycemia; test whenever he does that.

If below 80 on the AlphaTrak, he earns a reduction of 0.25 units.

84 is the lowest he has gone

If his levels are low and you have not given insulin, I would skip the shot. He may be higher when you test when the next dose is due, but that is better than going to low. If you have already given insulin, I would test a few more times before the next shot is due.

Was the 84 reading received during a pre-shot test or was it mid cycle?
