Mugzee finally hit the green zone yesterday morning. I didn't shoot because he was the lowest he's ever been. Then his numbers climbed again. Tonight he's lower but I think I should still give hime something, but not sure how much. Any suggestions?

No, both my cats were really hungry and wanting their dinner. He usually isn't low like this before dinner but since he did this yesterday also, I think his body is trying to work. I ended up giving him .5u and I will check his levels again.

Ok

OK. Next time it’s worth Stalling, not feeding and checking again in 20 mins to see if the BG is rising.
is there any history of ketones? .

If I were you I would buy some Ketostix from a pharmacy or Walmart and test your kitty’s urine at least once a week for ketones while he has high numbers and is unregulated. It’s a simple test but a very worthwhile one in detecting ketones and catching them early and preventing a much more serious condition.

The first green number we had, I was terrified to shoot. I posted here and was encouraged to still give him his full dose. He was just fine and didn't go as low as I thought he would! Now I shoot pretty much any number and he's been pretty steady in the blues and greens. I think our cats being on Lantus lets us be able to do that. We are doing Tight Regulation though so I think the rules are a bit different. Doing TR though has REALLY helped bring my boy's numbers way down!!

Mugzee had his first dental today and had 2 teeth removed. They ran bloodwork today and everything looked so much better than his bloodwork in May. His glucose in May was 369 and today it was 121. So, changing his food has made a world of difference.
