Low numbers on Lantus after a month

Hi!

I posted last month about my cat who swapped from Caninsulin to Lantus, we upped the dose to 4 units after his numbers were greater than 10 mmol after a month on Lantus. Last night he was testing at 2.8 mmol. We held the dose for 2 hours and he only increased 2 mmol, this morning now at 10 am he’s 6 mmol. Do we drastically reduce his dose or skip again?

We need to see data to advise. Which method are you following? You can go there first basic guidance. Have you read the dosing sticky?

We have two dosing methods we use here, that can be used to help you decide what to do. More information here: Dosing Methods: Start Low, Go Slow (SLGS) & Tight Regulation (TR) Picking one or the other of the dosing methods will have suggestions on what do with lower number preshots.

Without seeing blood sugar data for the last couple weeks, we cannot provide any detailed suggestions. The spreadsheet is the tool we use to help us understand what is happening with your cat.
