low low blood readings, few drops insulin

Jasmine is continuing to get very low pre-shot blood readings and today she is only receiving a drop or two of insulin. Today's pre-shot readings have been the lowest. Any thoughts?

I'm certainly no expert, but when I thought 60s and 70s were "low, low" numbers, I was corrected. Those are actually GOOD numbers, and somewhere in the 70s/80s, I believe, is a good place to be. I think with the rises over 100, I'd keep the dose...but someone who knows more should be along to help you out with that. As everyone around here has had to tell me multiple times--Lantus is not dosed by pre-shot numbers, but rather by the lowest number they reach within a 12 hr shot cycle.

That being said, I think with the experience I've had with my Max, at this point I won't shoot anything under a 70 unless I can be home to monitor as he's almost certain to drop low.

Hi Jodi!

Just out of curiosity, are you around during the day? I want to get a few other people to look at Jasmine's SS. It looks like there are some inverted curves but there's not a lot of spot checks in order to be able to really tell. I was wondering if it's at all possible for you to get more checks in so there's a better picture of how Jasmine's numbers typically run.

This week I am working from home and can do some random checks, next week I will not be able to monitor her blood as closely. I will get some +6 - +7 checks in to see where she is at lowest.

That would be wonderful! If it's possible to do a full curve (every 2 hours) or a mini-curve (every 3 hours) that will be very helpful with regard to filling in some of the blanks.

Jodi:

I checked with a few others and they are thinking that Jasmine may have a late nadir. As I mentioned earlier, if you are able to get a few cycles with more spot checks, this will help to clarify what's going on.

Hi: If you post your numbers in the title it will be easier to follow: i.e. 04/05 Cat's name, amps and number, + and number. That way there is no delay in checking the ss. You will do fine here. Lots of help available to guide you. Good luck.
