Low carb treats

I’m trying to reward Max with a treat every time I have to poke him because I feel like he’s a bit unhappy with me with how many times I’ve poked him in the last 2 weeks. It could just be me, but none the less I feel horrible. He seems sad now.

The other day I cooked a roast in the Instant Pot (no salt or other seasonings). I gave him a small piece (3/4”x1/8”) and he really loved it. Is this ok as a treat? I did buy some chicken so will boil some for him tomorrow.

Unseasoned meat is a great treat! Another option is to bake the chicken instead of boiling since some of the nutrients are lost.

Are there any store bought treats that are low carb that you recommend?

PureBites are the most popular - they're single ingredient freeze-dried treats. Chicken or turkey are the most recommended ones. Most people buy the dog versions since they're cheaper in the long run.

Any form of protein is low carb and fine for your kitty! Some members use freeze dried chicken or other proteins and some member cook for their kitties!
