I want to change Sabrina from LC Friskies pate to something else asap. Can members help name some favorites that I could either go to the pet store and get (in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA) or order online and receive relatively quickly? Lower cost is best.

We have done some fancy feast classic pates too. She is having significant issues that may be heart problem or seizures, and they've started since her diagnosis, insulin, and food change. I feel it's worth a try to change foods, in the possible chance they're related. Thank you!!!!

Weruva is a good brand to check out. They have a lot of options under 10% carbs and you can get it at Petco, so you don’t need to wait for shipping. All their nutrition info is on their website as well. Look at the the carbs under the “calories and metabolize energy (ME) profile” sections.

PetSmart and PetCo have TikiCat which is all supposed to be low carb. I'm doing Friskies Shreds with Magic for now since he wants to be super picky on texture but it's only 13% which in the grand scheme of things my vet wasn't too concerned about.

Fancy Feast pates are probably your next least expensive option. Some 9 Lives pates are also on the food list as safe for diabetic cats.

Weruva and TikiCat are good low carb options, but they are definitely on the more expensive side. On sale, I bought a bunch of Weruva for $1/can... and they were the 3 oz cans (Fancy Feast sized), not the larger ones. Normally $1.30, I think. So, comparable to prescription food.

Many members also use the Sheba Perfect Portions. Stick to pates, avoid gravy.
