Hi have not taken food away as trying to get him to eat after the pancreatic flare yesterday. This morning he was 332. Just now 139. Tested again in case strip was faulty.
What shall I do? Obviously not going to give him 9u of lantus.

Yesterday evening home from er they said only give half dose if not eating all. He was at 250 and didn’t eat a lot so I gave him 5U.

I am going to test now 20 minutes later

Okay another 20 minutes and now 148. I was scared it was going to keep dropping. Do I give any insulin?

Can you get any tests in tonight? Do you think he will eat? At a minimum, you can usually give half a dose, which I think is what the vet hospital said.

He has been eating all day long. Ate 2 jars of baby food, a can of Purina pro plan EN gastrointestinal. Some boiled chicken leg, and fancy feast pate. Every hour he comes to the kitchen and eats something. I have been warming the food. He ate an hour before I first tested him

Another hour later from the last test we are at 172 and he ate a 1/2 can of the prescription food, so I will give a half dose and remove the 911

So he got his shot 4-1/2 U (half dose) at PMPS + 1 hr and 40 minutes. 2 hours after that tested at 202. I had no idea how to put those in the spreadsheet so it may look a little crazy

2 hours after the shot is easy, that one goes in the +2 cell. The PMPS test, the 172, still goes in the PMPS cell, but you can put 172@+13.6 That tells us it was 1.6 hours after the +12. You can also put some notes in the Remarks column if you want more details. For the earlier tests, you can put them in the +11 cell. It would look something like 139@+12;137@+12.3;148@+12.6

Good to hear he's eating well today.

He was 262 this morning and ate a can and 1/2 of FF chicken pate. Gave him 4-1/2 U and will check in a couple of hours
