Ok, Motor has been doing this strange (to him) thing and I don't know what to make of it.

He's never been a talker. Only when REALLY needed (ie: litter box, etc). But recently he's been leaving the room I'm in and going into our bedroom and talking. Sounds kind of like whining, but not sure. He keeps this up until I come in there. Most of the time he has his favorite toy next to him. I tried to play with the toy and he just stared at me. I lay on the floor with him and he seems happy, but I can't spend my day on the floor.

I've also tried putting him on the bed (its really high and he can't jump up there yet - used to all the time). He cried when I left the room until I laid on the bed with him. He slid over and put his head on my head and we took a nap. Lovely, but what???

I am home during most days right now and my hubby is home at night with him. Motor does NOT do this at night with hubby.

What is he trying to tell me?? Anyone??

edit:

I should add that he moves around the room and takes the toy with him every time I come back.
Also this didn't start happening until I started home testing and found his numbers low enough not to shoot. Could that be something?

I had a cat that started doing this. He would get right in my face like he was trying to tell
me something. I took him to Vet and found out he was in a lot of pain.

I hope Motors ok.

hi Jamie, my cats do that when they have a toy in their mouth, sounds like there in distress when they do this ! I asked my vet why they do that and she said when they hunt and catch something they do this to show you what they caught my kitties do this even when they have there toys laying by them so if your kittie is bringing this toy with were ever they go it might be for the same reasons , call your vet and ask , hope eveything is ok :YMHUG: its stressful when you don't know whats wrong with them .

I wonder if your shooting him...and the testing, became a form of attention that he really liked. One on one time with mommy, and lot's of sweet talk included, even a treat maybe. All that stuff made him feel really good and now he just wants MORE.
he does'nt want to play, he wants YOU to pay more attention to him, touch him more.
maybe you can start brushing him ritually, or give him a bit more cuddle time.
tom became much more affectionate after I started treating his dire beasties.
I can never even touch him now without him breaking out into full throttle purr. EVER!
He just LOVES being touched now.
I brush him every day, he gets a massage everyday, I lay on the floor with him, I also tease him into a hide and seek game. I taunt him and then I go behind the couch and slowly peek my head out and it entices him to chase me around.
Maybe I look a little nutty running around my house with my cat chasing me....but we like it and that's all that matters.

I think you're right on the mama and Motor time. He also has been following my hubby around too. Motor also has been sleeping ON him, which he's never done before.

I will definitely try the hide and seek thing. I love getting chased by my cat - the neighbors have their kids - I got my cat!

As I type Motor wants in my lap but it's HOT here! So he just keeps his distance!

Yes I have 2 fur brushes, a long toothed comb, and a few "pet" brushes. (the kind you wear as a glove).

Why do you ask?

thought she might enjoy you setting some time aside to brush her every day....

I agree w/Lori & Tom. Cedric loave his Love Glove from Drs Foster & Smith and I try to spend some time each night brushing his coat.

Never hurts to call a vet and ask, but like the others said, I think he just loves attention time. Dopey talks more when he wants attention. Or food. Or his box cleaned. But I usually can tell the difference between the mraaaawwrs. =)
(he, like Tom, Lori, loves to play Hide and Go Seek when he's on the stairs) I call it "Hide and Go Dopey" I run up or down to the next level and peek around the staircase. He gets so excited and comes thundering up or down to "get" me. I then yell "you got me, you got me" as I run and he chases me and meows to confirm it! I thought I was a total crazy cat lady, but my x bf used to do it too! =P

My cats both hate brushings, I'm envious of the people who have kitties that enjoy it. I've gotten every single kind of apparatus thats been created trying to get them to like it, they just don't.

But the pokey time has become something they both look forward to. Extra attention, pettings, loves & treats all = awesomeness in the kitties book (only one of my cats is a diabetic, but other cat can't be left out!! :!: )
