i'm hoping to get tom into vet today for hyper-t testing. i'm in so. cal having like the wildest weather ever and don't like taking him out in it especially with how he must be feeling. don't wanna upset the poor boy anymore then necessary and it's not a total emergency.
he does seem to have all the signs of hyper-t...nervous, scampering about, ravenous, (not drinking tho) losing a little weight. his #'s have been more consistent tho. before shooting him 5 days ago they were all over the map. now he seems to go about 24 hours on 1/3 u and then i get mid 200's...perhaps if i tested him more i'd catch the rise but i'm more worried about his self come downs than those #'s....agree/disagree?
hey, any hyper-t's here?

Hi Lori--hope you don't mind that I started a new topic for you. I was afraid no one would see your message in the other thread.

Hope the weather calms down enough for you to get to the vet today.

This is just my opinion, and it's certainly not an educated one, just a gut feeling. At this point, you are pretty certain that he needs insulin, right? So commit to that fully. It is nice to know how capable he is of bringing himself down, I agree, but less time spent in higher numbers is better. So any way you can help him do that (shooting as soon as you know it's a rising number above your no-shoot #, whatever that is) is going to best for Tom.

I hope your weather calms down and you can get him to the vet today too. As far as the hyper-T thing, Buzz is not, and she's the only one I can speak for. ;)
