Hello L&L Land Family,

It's been a while, so I thought I would post a quick update from THoC. The kittens are growing like weeds! I keep begging them to slow down, but they refuse. They eat like little horses - two 5.8 oz cans a day, each! They are still playful and crazy, but their sweet, affectionate side is coming out and at least once a day they will climb in my lap for lovings. They wake me up early in the morning  by jumping on the bed (usually on my chest), then want attention for 15-20 minutes before settling down and cuddling up to me. Boris has a really loud purr that has a hair trigger - you touch him and he purrs! Natasha's is a little quieter and takes a little more to get going. He is the calmer one of the two. She is a total maniac. They still adore each other and play and wrestle and chase each other all over the place. They are constantly pushing the envelope - climbing to new heights and knocking stuff over. Typical kitten stuff.:woot:

Here are some recent pics:

We are having the time of our lives with them!

The are 23 weeks old and tomorrow they go in for their spay/neuter. We timed it to coincide with our semi-annual trip to Reno for bowling, so when I pick them up tomorrow evening I will take them to Dawn's. I really didn't know how I was going to keep them - especially Natasha - quiet for several days after their surgery, so this is the perfect solution. They will be in separate cages, which they will hate (they are comfortably sized for one cat, but crowded for two), but she will take them out several times a day for supervised time together. Also, where better for them to be than under the care of a licensed vet tech? I am hoping Natasha will be able to wear a CoverMe instead of a cone.

I love my vets and their staff, but I am already a nervous wreck :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting:, so any vines would be appreciated.

I try to get around to visit condos as much as I can, but these two keep me hopping and our remodel is STILL dragging on....

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug:

Aawww. They are so adorable. How much fun!

Vetty vines. They will do fine. And how lucky are you to have a vet tech as a sitter. Sooo jealous. I sure wish I could find someone I trust.

Have fun on your vacation.

Beautiful kitties! Are they Siamese or similar? I am partial to Siamese as my first kitty was Siamese. Now I have a live wire female Tortie that owns me, and I love her.
Sending vines for their procedure today.

Tricia...they are both just gorgeous and have grown so much since your last post.
Their tails are magnificent!
How do you ever get any work done with those two to distract you?!
Sending many Ozzie vines for successful procedures tomorrow and uneventful recovery.
And :bighug::bighug::bighug: to you.

I LOVE them and want to smush the kitties :cat::cat: Hope the spay/neuter goes well today. Leo got neutered 2 weeks ago. I also love trying to keep a kitten from running around afterwards

Are they Birmans? What breed are they? They look a bit like Karl Lagerfeld's cat, Choupette...

Whatever they are, they are stunningly beautiful! :-)

Thank you all for the vines and prayers. The procedures went well and Boris and Natasha are now cuddling in a double-wide cage.

Here is a shot of them when I visited them in the recovery room:

The vet said that they did Boris first, and when they brought Natasha back after her procedure and put her in the cage with him, they cuddled up together immediately.

They are Neva Masquerade Siberians. Siberians are a medium to long hair breed of cat. My civvies Minka and Kisa were also Siberians, but they were small for their breed and they were not colorpoints. A typical, full grown Siberian male will weigh 15-20 lbs, a female 12-15. They don't reach full maturity until 5 years of age. They have a large ruff (mane) around their neck. Their fur often gets longer and fuller in winter, then they shed their winter coat when the weather warms. Their tail is large and bushy, almost fox-like. The bushy tail is used to wrap around their head covering their face, ears and extremities in the harsh Siberian climate. They have thick tufts of fur on their feet for protection against snow and ice as well as having 3 layers of fur.

Neva Masquerade or colorpoint refers to the type of Siberian with blue eyes and markings or color on their face, ears, tail, legs/feet with a lighter body color. NEVA referring to the Neva River where they are thought to have their origin and MASQUERADE because they look to be wearing a mask and gloves. Boris is a Seal Point and Natasha is a Seal Lynx point.

Awww.....they will be together to support each other during their recovery

Hopefully Boris will understand that Natasha is going to take a little more time than he will before she's ready to roughhouse again!!

It's great that you timed it so they'd be with Dawn for a few days!

Glad the procedure went well. So adorable to see them cuddling and sleeping together.
Thanks for explaining the breed. Love their colors, so beautiful!

Tricia - they are just gorgeous - so glad the procedure went well and they are safe and warm cuddling together
sounds like you have your hands full - in a wonderful sort of way :bighug:

Be still my heart! Can they get any cuter!??? I am so glad that the procedures are done and that they are doing well. I hope your trip is a good one and that you have nothing to worry about as it sounds like they will be in good hands.

That is just the sweetest picture ever! I'm glad the procedures went well. Your babies are gorgeous - I didn't know this breed existed until recently. :)
