Loose Lips: FD Home Testing Sympathetic Vets

Don't know if this has already been suggested or done;

Gathering a list of Vets who are either pro-home FD testing, or at least open to it. The list would be organized by State, City, Province, Country, County, Parrish - whatever it took to know if there was a recommended Vet in your area.

It seems someone is always looking for a home testing friendly, knowledgeable FD vet.

ie: Vet Wonderful, DVM - north hollywood, caifornia - phone number, email, website if there is one.

Lots of work I know - not volunteering to do it, just wondering if this sounds like a good idea to anyone other than me. Or, is there such a list somewhere and I just haven't found it yet?

Okay - I'm the only one (so far) who thinks this might be a good idea.

Or, the idea's so bad no one wants to comment and have their name attached to same? :shock:

Uh oh, too late for me.

I think it's a wonderful idea! I just don't have a vet I'd recommend at this time. ;-)
I have to add..... it wasn't easy to find a bean doctor that I really liked either. I don't blindly accept anything from my doctor. I make decisions as to my care and medications. I'm glad I have a doctor who I can talk with and will investigate ideas I give him. He doesn't feel threatened.

I think the problem is that a list of this kind can take on the notion of advertising. I would hate to see some of the franchise clinics start trying to advertise on the site. Usually, when someone is looking for a vet, they post here and/or on Health asking for a recommendation. Vets move around and the list could become dated quickly.

(Also, the subject line first made me think to myself, why would anyone want to test a sympathetic vet for diabetes?)

:lol: :lol: :lol:

Now that I look at it - it does.

But then maybe some of the vets who are sympathetic either know someone with the disease or have it. Then again maybe those are the ones in it for the animals.

I think it's a great idea... but I have yet to find a Vet I fully trust who agrees with the treament protocol we all follow here. :? So far the only vet I have had that I love is my dog's opthamologist!

I'd have a vet I'd add to the list if there was one. She's not perfect but she's pro-Lantus and pro-testing...she was Boomer's vet.

After the horrible experience with my long time vet, I had to "interview" quite a few before I found not one but TWO wonderful vets. Not only are they test friendly, they are eager to hear information I've learned. I LOVE the list idea...but can see how it could be seen as advertising and become outdated.
