If I hadn't tried it I wouldn't believe it. It's called ZoomGroom by Kong. Sebastian HATES being brushed and hates parts of his body being touched and therefore he gets hairballs. I saw this at Pet Smart and it seemed simplistic but I figured for 8.99 what the heck. It looks like a little purple rubber cat with rubber teeth coming out of it. It says to massage in a circular motion. So I did and OMG Sebastian LOVES it AND SO MUCH hair came out. It really gets the undercoat!

So if anyone is interested, I thought I'd share this information. This has been a PSA. have a great day!

Thank you for sharing! The regular brush that I have that I've purchased at Walmart works, but I don't think it gets down to the fine hairs that they lick out. I know that Blackie and Aurora love being brushed, but both Groucho, and his sister Tiny care, but don't care for it. I may have to check it out and get it this weekend. It sounds like a great thing to get!

Thanks for the tip. I'm always looking for grooming tools that work. I wonder how it does on kitties with REALLY long hair? At that price, I guess I can afford to take a chance. I use a furminator on my abys, and that is wonderful, but you have to follow up with a brush to get the loosened hair it leaves behind. Cinco loves his wire brush. Minka's hair is too thick and long for the furminator. I use a rake and a metal comb on her. I'm going to add this to my Petsmart list - I'm planning to stop there this afternoon on the way to the OV. Thanks!

Not really sure how it would be for very long hair but it's GREAT for very thick fur, which Sebastian has. When I circle that thing around on him SO MUCH undercoat comes out. Much more than I ever saw on a comb or brush. I was truly astonished.I know I sound carried away which is not normally how I sound but heck, I'm impressed!

Zoom grooms are great on long haired kitties too. I had a maine coon cross with arthritis who didn't like combing but would tolerate the zoom groom. I get tons of fur off my medium haired civie with that tool.
