Looking for Vet in Raleigh area of NC.

Hey ya'll!

Not sure when it will happen, but at some point, I'll have the $$ to take Lucian to the Vet for a check up and I certainly will NOT be taking him to the ones that DX'd him. That's a whole 'nother horror story.

Was wondering if anyone in the Raleigh area has a Vet that they recommend, that is up to date and understands a parent that handles their baby's FD themselves and is willing to work in tandem with them. I obviously can't afford to pay Vets just to interview them, so hoped you may have some suggestions on Vets anywhere within 30 miles of Wake Forest/Raleigh, NC.

I soooo miss my Vet in TN. :sad: If I lived in western NC, I'd still be using him. Just too far and gas is too expensive and Lucian doesn't travel well, so that won't happen.

Any ideas, let me know, you can pm if you like, since I rarely check forums other than Relaxed Lantus.

What I'm really looking for is recommendations from people with diabetic cats, who are satisfied with their Vet's knowledge and performance with their cats. I feel like I have a better chance of finding an appropriate veterinary service, if others are happy with them, ya know? I'm aware of the ones around me, but have no way of knowing about their abilities with FD. So I'm hoping some of the members might give their opinions, good or bad, of Vets they have dealt with in the Raleigh area.

Obviously, there may be things that some would prefer not to say in public forum, so pm'ing me is fine. Like any other profession, there are good and bad and I'm trying to avoid the bad, been there, done that. ;-)

I vaguely remember something about one of the local universities, can't remember if it is UNC or NC State, but they have a Veterinary school and clinic and are supposed to be very good. I'll have to look that up. I would imagine they would be much more up to date than the average Vet's office. Seems like it anyway.
