Looking for feeding advice

I got 2 of the Petsafe 5 meal timed feeders and am switching both Sabrina and my other overweight cat to all LC can food. Can you please advise on how I determine how much they should eat daily? (Or at least Sabrina.) She was 10.5 lb at diagnosis on June 7. She looks like a good weight now and could probably use to lose a little more. She was much heavier beforehand, and her weight loss prompted the vet visit that led to diagnosis.

Besides the am and pm meals, what are ideal times for feedings? I don't have much data on her BG yet, and her one curve's numbers didn't vary much. Due to work I am away from home 50+ hours a week.

For those using the Petsafe 5 with can food, do you put ice or ice packs in it? Do you use smaller bowls or just the white dish? (I've seen the one member's set up with glass bowls.) For multiple cats, any advice regarding placing the feeders close together or far?
 
I would put a question mark before your title, go to where is says thread tools on the right hand side tap that and tap edit title , hit save
 
I don't have an automatic feeder, although I am thinking about getting one. Maybe you could freeze cubes or small blobs of canned food to use in the feeders. It would thaw and still be a little fresher and cooler. I also think small ice packs sound like a good idea.

There are many articles on the internet covering how much to feed. pet.webmd.com, for instance, recommends 24 to 35 calories per day per pound.
So I think you need to weigh Sabrina and also calculate the calories in the foods you serve.
I also read that some using an auto-feeding device will freeze portions of food and insert them inside so they are thawed by the time the cat eats them. They also place ice packs under the device to keep cool.

Apart from the two main meals you give at Preshot, I would suggest giving snack at +3 and +5 each cycle. You may find you want to change that around a bit as you go along but try and keep the snacks during the first half of the cycles.

I would also try and get a before bed test in every night to see the BG is not dropping too much
