Long time no see, but I come with good news about Zot!

A lot has happened since I was active on these forums, I had to leave to take care of my grandmother who had a brain surgery, full-time but I have returned!
Zot reacted very positively to insulin and treatment and like the tank he is, has been OTJ since April of this year!
My spreadsheet has not been updated in a very long time and doesn't show it, but his BG readings have almost all been in the green consistently for months now. I'm thankful that he was able to be OTJ so quickly.

Since the bout of inactivity, Zot has been diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease, had a very successful tooth extraction and abscess treatment process, but has also started to have some problems with nausea which is suspected to be gastritis or pancreatitis. That being said, despite everything, the little man is doing very good and has been very happy!
He switched to a food more focused toward kidney disease some months back as we found out he was a very picky eater and refused anything and everything prescription, began starving himself and losing weight. We tried several different foods and settled on Forza10 for the time being. He had begun to panic if his dish was empty in September. I mean PANICKING, knocking everything over, banging against the walls and mirrors, and keeping everyone up at all hours of the night. Zot has been free-fed for some months now with heavy monitoring and hydration encouragement and loves to graze slowly on his food these days, and is also gaining his weight back. He had a visit to the ER today because of lethargy and nausea, came home with anti-nausea and some pain medication and is sitting on my lap purring and feeling a lot better.

I hope everyone here has been doing well and I'm still so very thankful for everyone who has given advice and been continuous guidance for us through this.

Awesome news, it has been a while, I remember when you started! And sorry about your grandmother.

Not sure too much about the other conditions you mentioned, but the nausea could be related to the kidney disease. And my understanding is it's pretty common for it to come and go.

Congrats though, nice job!

Yes, it is very good news!
I also thought so too, I won't really know until more testing is done, but they seemed pretty convinced that it wasn't caused by his kidney disease.
