Let's see whether Carl is around and what he thinks and what your pmps looks like. I think I'd consider a 1.25 on those higher yellows - the ones over 250. He is not coming down as much as we would like, and he has room to come down and still be safe. Do you have the U100 needles? Would you be comfortable with that?

Carl agrees with Sue. ;-)
There's room below that 154 for a little bit more drop. You could increase provided you can get a test or two in the middle of the cycle. Overall, the numbers are looking better though.

If the PMPS is anywhere near what the AMPS was, the curve would be the right shape, which would be nice to see.

Carl

edit to add - you see his curve on 3/1? Today's is like that, only nicer in the middle. So it's an improvement!

How I wish his PMPS was like this morning but no it 334 at +12, you guys think he is improving? I was looking at his SS and from the beginning he seems more regulated now, at least since I stopped the dry food anyway. I was thinking of getting him so blood work done at the vets, it's been a year since he had a work up except for the fructosamine, he has 5 of those this from last year to this year so far, also he has had a urine done 2 months ago. Thinking it may be a good idea to run some test.
For some reason I am feeling that he should be better regulated than he is, is it wishful thinking or am I missing something?
Thanks again for you input and help.
Michele

Here's what I see....

A good way to get a sense of how things have gotten better is to reduce the "zoom" on his spreadsheet so you can really see the numbers, just the colors.

At the top of the spreadsheet, there's a awful lot of RED. And the doses were 3 to 4 times higher than they are right now. Now scroll down towards the bottom. Notice how pink and yellow it gets? And on much lower doses.

That says "things are better". What I like is that he's seeing curves that are shaped like a smile. Sure, sometimes it's more the shape of a smirk than a big grin, and sometimes one corner of the "mouth" is higher or lower than the other (like Elvis!), but for the most part, you have "up" on the ends, and "down" in the middle. That's what they're supposed to look like.

Better?

Carl

He is definitely looking better - more yellows and even a few blues. There just isn't a time frame for regulation - it takes some cats years. But he is getting close and I am encouraged.

Tests? Up to you. If you don't see any symptoms like sore mouth (teeth issues) or inappropriate urination (UTI) I don't know what I would ask the vet to do..... If he wasn't eating well or had an upset tummy, we would think about pancreatitis and urge some tests. But he seems pretty happy and healthy, right? (anti jinx)

In my humble opinion (and it is humble, because I am not walking in your shoes) I think both of you are doing really well.

Thanks Guys, it helps to know that this could take years and at almost 16 he could have a few more years I hope as long as he is happy, eating and loving life then I think we will be fine.
He is eating fine, urine output is fine so it's me who needs to relax I think. And to think positive with the results we have gotten in the last 2 months. I have learned so much already and I am sure I will learn more.
I am calling the vet tomorrow for him to order me the marked U 100's syringes.
Thanks Sue and yes Carl much better. Thanks again for holding my hand yet again.

And I'm proficient at "all nighters" if you see a low number when everyone else in the world is sleeping! If you put a 911 icon on it, I'll most likely be among the first to respond!
