The LLEF is running a fundraiser Cheryl & Whiskers and for Mike & Buddy. Both of these caregivers are in financial need and have kitties with ongoing health issues.
Cheryl’s Whiskers was taken to the ER vet Saturday night. She had not eaten in over 48 hours. The ER is feeding by tube, giving IV fluids and pain meds, and keeping Whiskers warm. The cost of the first night alone will be $1200.00. They hope to move Whiskers into regular care when she is ready, and administer tests to find out what is wrong, and continue treatment. Cheryl is sick with worry about Whiskers, and how she will pay for this. Cheryl needs our help to get Whiskers through this.
As most of you know, Whiskers came to live with Cheryl under very painful family circumstances. Whiskers has been diagnosed with a malignant adrenal tumour and with Cushing’s disease. Before this emergency, Cheryl was already having difficulty with paying for Whiskers' required frequent blood work and the expensive medications she needed. She had hoped that surgery to remove the tumour might be an option.
Mike is living on a fixed income and is barely able to cover the cost of food, insulin, and supplies. A kind donor has helped him with his insulin for a few months, but Mike has revealed in his condos that Buddy has ongoing issues with a skin disease that leaves him with recurring open sores. Mike has posted pictures of these lesions. So far, Mike’s vet has been unable to successfully treat this problem. We would like to raise funds to help Mike not only with his ongoing costs, but more importantly, to help get Buddy get a consultation for diagnosis and treatment for the skin issues.
The kind people in Lantus Land have donated generously in the past to help out those of our community in need. We are hoping that you can find it in your hearts to once again help those among us who are in need.

The Lantus Land Emergency Fund (LLEF) is a small fund maintained by contributions to assist Lantus ISG kitties when funds are needed in the event of emergency treatment. If sufficient funds are available, the LLEF also tries to help those who need assistance with non-emergency, but necessary treatment, insulin, or supplies for their diabetic cat.
