Little victories

That is awesome! I remember the first time I was successful testing by myself, too...with FD, even the littlest victory is HUGE...great job, Laura!

Congratulations, and I know you're extremely proud of yourself for that. I remember testing Blackie in the very beginning. Yeah, I was a bit scared, but I got over it very quickly as I knew I had to get it done, and it was going to be an ongoing thing. My only concern was Blackie and how she'd react. Much to my surprise and delight, she took to it rather well. Yeah, I may have poked too hard at times that made her cry out, but I made sure that put more Neosporin with Pain Relief on her ear to deaden the pain. It'll get much easier for you both as time goes. There will be times that you'll be a testaholic. LOL It happens. These little victories are a huge, huge step in the right direction. Keep up the excellent work, you 2! :D

Congratulations! It does get easier as you go..I remember having both me and mom test in the beginning, and it took a while for me, (and especially my 79 year old mom) to do it alone, but the treats helped(freeze dried chicken). Great job!:)

It's a major victory. No small task in the beginning. Once the routine is established, it gets a lot easier. Gosh, I used to have to play chase and herd to get Polly tested. Once even had to drag her out of the kitchen cupboard. And then it was wrestle mania to get the test.

Didn't take long for the "routine" to become the norm. Now she lops down the hall to the bathroom and jumps up on the counter. Sorta saying, "Hurry up; I want my treat."

Congrats. You done good!

Marilyn and Polly

just adding my congratulations! it's a big deal to master the testing, and as you poke he'll develop more capillaries. before long, you'll get blood with every single poke. That's a happy thing!

Managed to test Rupert 4 times today, once by myself. Pretty happy with that. His levels are still so high, hoping they'll be a little lower tomorrow.
Just saw your post, Laura.
YAY! Well done for getting those tests. :)

If you only saw high numbers that may be because Rupert was experiencing a bounce.
I know you've been finding it hard, but please don't be discouraged by those high numbers. Every mid-cycle test you can get will help us to build a picture of what's going on with Rupert's blood glucose. There is no reason to suppose that he can't be brought into a better blood glucose range, and in more even numbers.

Big hug to you,

Eliz
