Little still wonky

Hi all,
It’s been some time since I posted. I know I have not followed the typical protocol for Little for a few months but that was because I was dealing with trying desperately to save my other kitty from an anesthesia overdose. My thinking was that Littles wonky numbers were due to the stress of all that was going on here with 24 care being given to my other baby. (Molly) I was afraid to move her doses too much out of fear that she was responding to stress and could have an unexpected response at any time. Stupid decision looking back but it is what it is. Unfortunately, I had to make the decision after 4 months to let my beautiful fighter go. Yes I am heartbroken and angry but now it’s time to get Little back on track. I hoped that once things settled down and she got used to being the only kitty, her numbers would level off but she still seems to be erratic and bouncy. We went from 10 months of prozinc to now almost 10 months of Lantus. Again I realize that from November thru February I was not following protocol with dose changes but it seems no matter what I do I have a very bouncy kitty. I am ready to order more insulin in the next week or so and was wondering if anyone thought I should perhaps try Levemir.???! I want to get a handle on the bouncing and neither Prozinc or Lantus seem to be doing the trick. I’d appreciate any insight / advice anyone can give on this subject before I go order another supply. Thank you all and I hope everyone is safe

Sorry to hear about the loss of your Molly.:bighug::bighug:

First I'd try getting back to following the dosing method, and seeing how that goes. So, are you following Tight Regulation or Start Low Go Slow for dosing? If you could put either TR or SLGS in your signature, it'll help us help you faster. It's hard for me to see what dosing method you are following as you are holding doses too long for TR, but not reducing when you should if following SLGS.

Note, I'm only looking at the last few weeks. The cautious approach you did earlier may have led to some glucose toxicity. That can be overcome.

Thanks Wendy. My Molly fought so hard....If you can take look back to July 2019 which I believe is when I made the switch to Lantus from prozinc I did follow the protocol thru October for the most part.(that’s when everything went to hell) she Still was bouncy. Any thoughts on what Levemir May do differently for her ? I’m not looking for a quick fix, I just don’t want to invest a ton of $$ on new Lantus if she may end up on another insulin. I still have well over a months worth of Lantus left but trying to prepare. @Wendy&Neko - I am looking at a post from feb 2017 where it looks like kerrie and Winnie were experiencing similar patterns as Little and the thought was to switch to Lev. I see you also went from Lantus to Lev. That is the question I am facing now. If you get a chance and could look over my SS I would greatly appreciate your advice. Ive done 10 months on prozinc and now 10 months on Lantus. I am trying to follow TR as best I can will update my sig when I can get on a desktop
