Little pink pill

Buddy has a hot spot (I think it is) on his outer hip, about the size of a dime .
he's been licking and scratching alot, and i found something the medicine chest from a while ago(pre-FD), which i noted "for Buddys hotspot"(dont remember him having it last time ). But i wonder if it is predisone..a small pink pill, take 1/4 of it x5 days, it says. anybody know what it may be ?if it is pred, i guess it's best not to give it to him ..but what is good for hotspots, anybody know??thanks very much.

Could be Benadyrl. They are pink and used to stop/reduce scratching. It is an anti-histamine.

I noticed "west ward 477 " on it-looked up and it's Predisone ...not good to give , right?

Pred is frequently given for itching problems but has worse side effects than Benadryl.

You may need to adjust your insulin dose when you are giving that. steroids often raise blood glucose levels.
