Litterbox litter recommendations needed

Our cat Shae was diagnosed 2 weeks ago. We are giving her canned food and 2x day prozinc. Her numbers are coming down slowly. Shae urinates excessively. We just tried a littermaid box and it was not helpful---constantly jammed. What types of scoopable litter work best for folks? We have tried quite a few and none of them really seem to get solid. Do any automatic boxes work?
 
I like Okocat Natural Wood clumping litter (in the box with the blue strip at the bottom) the best of any I've tried. It's expensive but it clumps and scoops really well, has great odor control, and lasts a long time. I have four cats so those are all litter qualities that are very important to me!
 
I LOVE Dr Elses --most all cats do not like scented litters--it is very offensive to them
Dr Elses unscented clumps really well (I call one of mine Niagra Falls) I like it and the 1 time I switched he got UTI

when they are peeing so much the auto boxes I have found do not really work--after the cat is regulated it should work-
I have 2 cats and I have 3 large boxes downstairs and 2 upstairs as well as a kids small pol because they are older and it gives them lots of room-
 
I use Blue Buffalo Walnut-based litter. It contains the smell very well, clumps good, but it's dark so you kind of have to wipe around where it is from time to time because the dust from it is visible. It's expensive-ish but I have a picky cat when it comes to litter and this one is acceptable to him.
 
I like Arm & Hammer clumping litter (I'll add the link- I buy mine from Chewy). It clumps well but not too well- if that makes any sense. It doesn't clump so well that it's difficult to scoop, which is an issue I've found with other litters (my guy pees in **large** amounts). I also like Dr. Elses but I find that it's wayyyyyyyy too expensive for me and it didn't necessarily provide extraordinary odor control or clumping power; I only bought it because I scored a wicked good deal.

One thing I'd like to mention incase you decide to consider Arm & Hammer: I do not recommend their "Clump & Seal". I've heard that several folks have had problems with their cats inhaling it and eventually causing respiratory emergencies and severe intestinal blockages.

Thanks for the tip and clump and seal. I have a friend who uses it. I will tell her to move on!
 
Hello I use scoop away with my fur children and have found that it clumps very well in spite of the lakes of pee that Magellan made. Best yet it kept the stink of it down as well, mind you it had help from baking soda too.
 
I use the Breeze litter box! I am so glad I made the change as Fritz has asthma and no longer has to breath any litter dust of any kind. The system works well for us. I was always cleaning the old box each time he went their was litter everywhere with this box I change out the piddle pad every other day and wash it place the pellets back in and I'm done..... of course each time he does #2 I take it out right away.
It might not be for everyone but I love it!!!!
 
I am a big fan of World's Best Cat Litter - it is so easy to scoop and low dust (I have a cat with asthma).

But Keno has litter box issues, so I use Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract - it works but it is so hard to scoop - like concrete. But it keeps her peeing in the box.
 
Not a litter that clumps, but like a few other people have said, the tidy cat breeze is great because the urine goes through the pellets onto a pad that can be changed as often as it becomes fully saturated, so nothing actually clumps up and sticks together in the box. Also, the reduction in litter dust is fantastic! Do know that it takes a little bit of time (or at least it did for me) to transition your cats from finer litters to these pellets.

I'm in the UK and am a big fan of Oko Plus Cat's Best litter.
I've tried numerous litters over the years but this is the very best one I've found. It's lightweight, it clumps well, and it seems to reduce odours. The only slight niggle is that it seems to track around the house fairly easily (but I can live with that given it's other benefits!)

Dr Elseys Precious Cat Ultra stoop up pretty good in our automated with Smokey's diabetes. You need to keep it a deep as possible to make sure it doesn't clump to the bottom or sides. Once we got a few big peers in the house we had to take the automated out though. Dr Elsey's is very quick clumping and great odor control with little dust. I don't use anything else since switching.
 
World's Best Cat Litter, any of the varieties, and it's flushable. Am curious about the Okocat though!

Ditto. It's a veritable gift from the Kitty Gods. Tracks like bu**ery but it's odour-free, easy litter box clean-up (no cement-like clumps and biodegradable so they can be flushed down the loo) and when bought in bulk is much more economical than other litter products. A flat sissal mat in front of the litter box helps reduce the tracking.

Its pricey but i love smartcat litter.

Worlds best had been my favorite previously, but it would get so powdery. Smartcat stays crunchy and has the least amount of dust i've seen.
