I have a short question. I notice my cat is licking lips more often than usual. I've heard that this could mean nausea in cats. But she doesn't do any lip smacking and her appetite is very good. She'll always eat, any time of the day..or night )) So is this normal or could she be feeling nauseous? Thank you

It can be a sign of nausea but if she's eating well I wouldn't be too concerned just yet. Definitely keep an eye on her and make a note of it though in case it does turn into something, any unusual behaviour is cause for the hawk eyes!

My Dasher walks around licking the walls and baseboards throughout the house. This is something he's done for a few years now , we now notice he's doing it when he needs or wants to eat, I have tested him a few times when he starts this thinking low blood sugar but it's ok. He is a neurotic cat and he doesn't like any things wrong so we just go with it.
Keep an eye on it and see.

Check the mouth for signs of oral problems - tartar, inflammation, foreign bodies are a few

I have a little bit more information now. Might you be useful for others here. It Could be nausea but still not sure. The next day in the morning it actually looked like she wasn't feeling well, but more like the lip licking she usually does right after food, only she did not eat. 5mins later she threw up, a little bit. So definitely she was nauseous then. But the the thing is just because she was licking lips then and it was a sign of nausea does not mean that it's nausea at other times when she does it.

Well maybe it's just that. My cat is always hungry and asking for food no matter how much I feed her.
