Linda's poor darling Bear is feeling well under par - he's got liquipoo, is crying and has dipped into the 30s. He's had some syrup via syringe and was back in the 60s last I heard.

Please send all available vines, flakes, light, prayers and good thoughts to them both.

As far as I know, Linda and the Bear are at the vet's now. I'll update as soon as I know something. I've let Linda know there's a Bearman-Vines Condo here, also.

Thank you for the condo, Jane, and thanks to everyone for the snowflakes. Thank goodness I gassed up the snowblower last weekend.

The vet gave sub Q fluids as he was dehydrated, and gave Cerenia for nausea. She took blood and urine for testing. His temp was normal, and not too much else stood out on physical exam, except that he is very listless. His PCV is .26 - .27, so his anemia is not a factor. I am thinking UTI. He has been tapering off his Baytril lately.

I am an idiot for giving insulin this morning. He had no insulin yesterday. Today he had an amps of 162, so I gave a fat zero dose. What a stupid thing to do for an inappetant cat. He dipped to 36, and I syringed corn syrup into him to bring him up.

Back at home, he is still not eating, and still has liquipoo and is urinating anywhere. Even, oddly, on the bathroom scale. I hope the fluids and meds kick in. His meds have been way out of whack, with his eating being off. I am going to try him off Bupe tonight, in case it has been suppressing his appetite.

Thanks again for all the support. I guess Bear Man had a condo this week after all.

((( Linda ))) Not stupid to give him insulin - not eating and infection can lead to other troubles if insulin is withheld and it's needed. You didn't know which way he'd go. Glad you were home with him to intervene.

I hope the results come back quickly so you can nip it in the bud if it's an infection.
