Lily's back!

Hi everyone. its been a long time since I've posted on here. I haven't been on here in probably over a year. In September 2017 my husband was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Sadly he passed away in June. Its been an awful year for me. Also I haven't kept up with Lily's spreadsheet during that time either. Other than that, Lily is doing good for a kitty with acromegaly. Lily is now down to 17 units of Lantus 2x a day. At one point she was taking 55 units twice a day! I hope all of you are doing well! And hopefully Lily and I will be on here more often in the new year!

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. I can understand how that rocks your world having lost my husband suddenly back in 2014. We're happy to see you back and to hear Lily is doing well. What a change in her dose! Kudos to you for managing her so well while going through such a difficult time. While my girl only required 16u twice daily for awhile, I know how overwhelming dealing with a high dose kitty can be. :)

{{{Karen}}} my deepest condolences on the loss of you husband. :bighug::bighug: You have been through a lot. The one bright light is Lily still doing well. I had wondered how she was doing. Three plus years for untreated acro is a testament to your care. Pass on some scritches from me to her.

Maybe a New Years resolution for a 2019 SS?;)

So sorry to hear about your husband. That is truly a difficult year for you! Congrats on taking such good care of your Lily during all this...you're a good mama bean to be able to carry on and take care of Lily :)

Thank you everyone. Its been a crappy year for sure. I just had Lily to the vet for a checkup last month. Bloodwork came back all normal except for WBC and NEU. Both were slightly elevated. So my vet ran the test again this week, still elevated. She then sent the blood out to IDEXX lab and it still came back elevated, but not as high as at the vet's office. Also iDEXX lab didnt see anything unusual when looking at the cells in the blood. So my vet thinks it might just be due to stress? I'm not sure. Lily is acting fine.

Karen, I’m so sorry to hear about your husband:bighug: You've taken such wonderful care of Lily through such a difficult time, and I too hope that 2019 will be a better year for you.

Thanks again everyone. I've only told a 1/4 of it. My step-father passed away in April, my husband in June, my mom had a stroke in August, and also in August I also had to put to sleep one of my civvies. This year can't end soon enough for me. I do believe the kitties are what has helped me through all this to have them to come home too. Thank you all again for your kind words. :bighug:

That is a lot to go through Karen :bighug::bighug::bighug: Nice to hear from you, it's been a while. Great report on Lily, our acros are tough cookies. I can't thank you enough for suggesting golden paste, I think it's why Lily and Bronx are beating the odds ;)
